Accounts and catch-up work for companiesEstimateThe instant estimate on our website is based on your answers. The final price is confirmed in writing (engagement letter) after we have seen your records. The penalty appeal is included free with this work.

5. Identity checks and your instruction

Accountant reviews are professional services, so the law (Money Laundering Regulations 2017) requires us to check identity before we start. If we cannot complete the checks, or if we have to decline the work for legal or professional reasons, we will refund you in full. For company reviews, the director confirms that they are a director and ask us to deal with the penalty for the company. This covers only the penalty appeal. Our access to HMRC and Companies House comes through their own authorisation codes. Any other work needs a separate engagement letter.

6. Cancelling and refunds

7. Our liability

We prepare appeals with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the decision HMRC or Companies House makes, or for penalties, interest or losses caused by information you gave us being wrong or incomplete, or by an appeal being sent late because of a delay on your side. Our total liability for each case is limited to the fee you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Your data

How we use and protect your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy, email letters@accounted4tax.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 4 weeks. If you are not satisfied with our answer about an accountant review, you can complain to the AAT: aat.org.uk.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
